Stage Managers are in charge of the stage and the backstage during the rehearsal and live performance of plays. He takes instructions from the director and handles all issues like lights, background scenery, entries of characters, use of props, sound, costume changes etc. after final instructions by the director. Stage Managers need good technical and artistic skills with the ability to multi task and make correct decisions under pressure. A degree or diploma in stage management can be useful, but experience is more important. The candidate in this resume has stage managed for numerous plays for two theater companies.

Summary:

• Arranging rehearsals.
• Coordinate with other sections to plan wardrobe, scene changes, set design, sound and light.
• Maintain prompt copy of the script including performers' positions on stage, script changes, and the props, sound and light required for each scene.
• Coordinate with theatre managers and other staff.
• Monitoring 'get in' and 'get out' that is handled set and equipment installation and removal.
• Cueing performers to go on stage.
• Supervise the technical personal to control sound and light.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the director and help him during the rehearsal process.
• Responsible for performers' actions lighting, sound cues and properties.
• Schedule presence of stage management at each rehearsals also include technical rehearsal.
• Managing production personnel meeting, and their performances.
• Also responsible for calling places of performers during show. Also calls cues for sound, light and scenic changes.
• Preparing a list of props required according to the script and demand of the director.
• Manage various props rooms and also monitor and schedule staff.
