IT Resume

Sample IT resume should clearly shows candidates IT skills. To achieve this add IT skill, software or programming languages expertise section in your resume.
Relevant to your target job profile list your qualification, from most to least. If your educational qualification is relevant to the job for which you are applying then list it first in your resume. If you've already done what you want to do in a new job, by all means, list it first, even if it wasn't your most recent job. Abandon any strict adherence to a chronological ordering of your experience.

Wherever possible, quantify your experience. Mention numerically, time periods/efficiency improved, lines of code written/debugged, numbers of machines administered/fixed, etc. which demonstrate progress or accomplishments due directly to your work.
Begin sentences with action verbs related to IT field. Show yourself as someone who is active, uses their brain, and gets things done. Stick with the past tense, even for descriptions of currently held positions, to avoid confusion.
For Example
The more effective presentation of "Experience in web-development and the use of Structure Query Language with Databases." will be "Web-Development experience with HTML, ASP, and JSP. Proficiency with SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and SQL".
Further break this section into subcategories for a quick scan of your knowledge of programs and applications.
For example include the following that is applicable to you
  • Technical Certifications
  • Hardware
  • Operating Systems
  • Networking/Protocols
  • Programming-Languages
  • Web Applications
  • Database Applications
Highlight some of your soft skills in a career as a programmer to add a personality to your resume. Remember your resume should be short enough, yet should be able to effectively showcase your achievements. Do not make it excessively lengthy.
