A solution architect is concerned with finding solutions to specific problems and addressing requirements peculiar to certain information systems and computer applications. Solution architects can provide processes or documentations for addressing the specific problems / requirements. Solution architects usually work with enterprise architects to define the strategic direction and therefore require good interpersonal and communication skills. Also needed is a good mixture of technical and business skills. These include a degree in computer science, information technology, information systems or related fields. Relevant certifications are a great help and experience is given priority by employers.
